Palace of Versailles, Winter 2013

I made these images just before the palace closed for the night.  What I am most astonished and hapy with besides the opulence, decadance, and beautiful tonality of the light and shadows, is the simple fact that I managed to make a photograph without a single person in the image.  Considering the mirrors and the long corridors that is quite amazing!

While I can find fault with Marie Antoinette, I can celebrate the artistic accomplishment of this great architecture and the beauty of design within these confines.
