Vancouver Island, 2011

I made this image while hiking on a coastal trail on Vancouver Island.  It is a primordial scene that is soft and misty.  Like often happens, I didn't realize what I was subconsciously drawn to until years later.  When I made the print I was caught by surprise by the symbolism of the single tree in the middle that had split off into two.  This trip was the last one I made with someone I loved deeply.   Like the tree we would become separate and grow taller and straighter for it.  For me this image is a story of emergence and maturity within a nurturing garden of eden setting.

I am deeply grateful for the relationship and the experiences that have taken me deep into the forest and to the depths of my soul.
