"Overwhelming Passion" & "I'm Still Here", Pescodero St. Beach 2012
There was a weekend a couple of months ago when I was feeling emotionally overwhelmed. I decided to retreat into my darkroom to take solace and to find myself there. As I was looking through negatives I happened across these two and felt an instant surge of certainty. It was as if instead of me finding the image, the images had found me just when I needed them to. I made these two images about 14 miles south of Half Moon bay and was fascinated by how the large rock became hidden by the crashing waves but was still there afterwards. I think it is symbolic of how we find ourselves after intense emotions. Passionate love and loss results in truly finding myself because like the rock I am still here.
