Photography by Ira Gardner | NYC Light

New York, 2008

I've been to New York at least half a dozen times in the last 10 years.  One of the things that fascinates me about the metropolis is how humans interact with tall buildings and how the light reaches the ground.  This street scene caught my attention because of the way the sunlight only reached the sidewalk from the reflection off of the windows above.  I also enjoyed the interesting patterns that made me think of Piet Mondrian's grid paintings that were also inspired by this great city!
