Last weekend I had the pleasure of driving through the early morning darkness to reach Escure Ranch with a friend of mine. We went there to go fly fishing on Rock Creek. The 14,000 acre property had been a ranch for many years but had been purchased by the Bureau of Land management which converted it to public access. I am so appreciative of that last fact because the scenery was breathtaking. I didn't catch any fish that day but fortunately I had brought my camera gear and didn't really care. I was engrossed in making some imges like this one. My friend caught a beautiful rainbow trout that proved that they were there and I caught some magical moments of meditation on the grassy shoreline where I watched butterflies, pheasants, blue heron, and ducks fly about as water striders moved about on the surface of the creek.
