High Speed Sync

Yesterday I had a chance to experiment with using my Nikon d810 and SB700 flash in high speed sync mode.  I made these portraits of Travis who is a marathon runner who recently qualified for the Boston Marathon for the first time.  I wanted to knock down the ambient light and have shallow depth of field so I ended up setting the camera to f/2.0 at 5000th of a second and using the wireless commander to fire the SB700 as the main light.  I really enjoy how these images capture the grit and determination that Travis has built in to him.
